Winter 2008 Conference San Diego, California
Hello, I wanted to personally thank everyone that helped to make this years FMMUG winter conference one of the best ever, topping out with over 150 attendees. We had an exciting time beginning with the networking reception Sunday night on the USS Midway.
Monday morning Randy Jackson, the FMMUG chairperson, officially began the conference with his opening remarks. Jym Spinelli with Work Technology announced a new scholarship available to the families of FMMUG members. More information can be found on the FMMUG web site. Our keynote speaker, Patrick Okamura with General Dynamics, gave a very inspiring speech and helped set the tone for the remainder of the conference. The rest of the day was full of great presentations from both members and vendors. Round table sessions were also held. This was an opportunity for members to share issues, ideas, and solutions with one another. Monday night the Vendor Night provided an opportunity to mingle, eat great food, and win door prizes. We followed up on Tuesday with more great presentations. On Tuesday afternoon, the conference ended with a general session where Randy Jackson made several announcements. Randy passed the Chairperson position on to Gary Russell. Randy Oakes accepted the position of Vice-Chairperson. The new steering committee members were announced.
